golf gear: lela designs

I do not golf, but I will admit there is a intense lack of eco-friendly gear for athletes in general. While you can find plenty of yoga clothing that is green, it’s hard to find stuff for golfers and tennis players.
Enter Lela Designs, a Canadian company with a serious love of the preppy and eco-friendly. In addition to golf stuff you’ll find the general American Prep Vibe in this line.
Tina Hofer, the designer, founded the line in 2006. The line supports Camfed (the Campaign for Female Education), which works against poverty in rural Africa by empowering young women.

Everything you see here is made out of bamboo, organic cotton or recycled PET. The combination of the fabrics leaves you with a cloth that is naturally wicking, antibacterial and cool.
This is a fiercely feminine line that will probably have a piece or two for everyone. I don’t really do shorts or capris (even though I think they’re incredibly well-designed), but the tops are gorgeous.

I agree that Lela Designs makes some fierce, rocking eco-friendly clothes for ladies who golf (or want to look like fashion-forward golfers).
Just published a review of the company and its clothes on my site a couple days ago - http://1greenproduct.com/2008/07/fashion-lela-designs.html
Hope you’ll find it interesting and useful!
